米陸軍航空隊は1944年、整備士用の防寒ジャケットとしてD-2パーカーを採用した。前モデルのD-1はシープスキン製で重量面と動きやすさが見直され、コットン地にアルパカウールパイルのライニングを持つ仕様に改良された。正式に採用されたD-2パーカーはプルオーバー式であったが、このパーカーは前開きにして着脱を容易にし、更にはリバーシブル仕様としてD-2パーカーを昇華させたオリジナルの民間モデルである。

The US Army Air Corps adopted the D-2 parka as a winter jacket for mechanics in 1944. The predecessor D-1 model, made of sheepskin, was reexamined in its weight and ease of movement, and was modified to be made of cotton fabric with alpaca wool pile lining. While the officially adopted D-2 parka was a pullover type, this unique civilian model is changed to a full open front type to make it easier to put on and off, and also goes beyond the original D-2 parka with reversible specifications.
